The Force of Baron O Beef Dip
Hi all,
I've been into cars since I was a wee lad. My get-go foray into anything worth a damn was when I bought my attainable dream machine, a 2005 STi in 2012. I had been searching for a stock low mileage blobeye in Earth Rally Blue. This ane had 28k on it at the time and I bought it the aforementioned 24-hour interval it was listed online from Florida. I had grown upwardly playing Gran Turismo also equally other games, watched international racing, and had likewise watched Subaru in WRC and fell in dearest. Over the time I owned it, I did a lot and fully congenital the motor to make rubber reliable power, nonetheless I never concluded upwards going with a larger turbo and E85 like I had planned. I realize this forum is for Aussie owners only this is i of the more visited forums, so here we are.

Even so, I was really a Nissan fanboi with a Subaru.
Then in 2017 I added to the garage and bought a brand new Focus ST3 as a daily, but that didn't last long; after only 1 wintertime took it off daily duties because I just wanted to take care of it. I am super detail and actually similar to take care of my things and keep them dainty. I kept it mostly stock except for a couple deletes, wheels and a Cobb frazzle.
Then things happened in my life tardily in 2019 and I sold the cars soon after that for personal reasons and moved to Denver this past summer. I dearly miss those cars but I had already decided in winter of 2018 that I was going to try to do what I could to afford the absolute dream of mine....an R34 GT-R. Selling the cars made up some of the funds for the Skyline. Like I said I was really a Nissan guy with a Subaru. I got most top dollar for the STi at the time, and got what I asked for on the ST. It's nice to see that well-taken care of older gen STis are existence appreciated and commanding good prices, considering the puddle of nice examples sure is dwindling.
So I made the moves and got in touch with Summit Rank Importers in California and got the brawl rolling. I had already started getting parts for the car I didn't fifty-fifty have! After waiting for things to line up, I was able to start the search in early September. I had been keeping a close eye on the R34 marketplace for some fourth dimension now and was broken-hearted as prices accept been continuing to climb with no sign of stopping near a reasonable level. Hell, if I had bought even a year agone I would have saved a load of coin. It'south really crazy what these are going for.....just such is the way of things, peculiarly when there are so petty in the wild, let alone examples for auction.
I kept seeing so many nice cars go away from me, and I soon became pretty pessimistic that I wasn't going to brand information technology happen; I idea I was too late. Then 1 dark I was looking at auction cars and saw i that I liked yet once again. I reached out to Top Rank again and gave them a number I was willing to bid to. After several confirmations and messages, I gave them the greenish light. And so I waited. Equally luck would have it, I received a message a few hours after late at night that I had won. I couldn't believe it, I was merely floored. Granted, my search wasn't as long every bit some others, I was sure that I had missed the boat budget-wise. Needless to say, that night I basically didn't slumber I was so excited. Finally....I had a GT-R of my ain.
At this indicate, I'm still over the moon. It's a November of 2000 Series II GT-R with 95k km in Sparkling Silver. Unfortunately with Usa import restrictions, I have to look exactly five years to bring information technology over, so it's going to stay in Pinnacle Rank Japan'due south warehouse until then. I do plan on going over there one time or twice a year once the borders open up to check in, drive it and practice some modifications to information technology, so this is a journey that I'm looking forward to, even though it will be a long procedure.
